The history of the facility
It functions in the over 100-year-old building of the former primary school in Szczepanek. The school was built in 1900 and served its educational function until the 1990s. The one-storey object, entered in 2006 into the municipal register of monuments, is built on a „T“ plan, covered with a high multi-pitched roof with domes.
At the begining of the 90’s, as a result of organizational changes in Strzelce’s municipal education, the school provided education only for 1-3 grade, and in 1999 it was completly closed. However, the building continued to serve the local community, even in 1997 some of the unused classrooms were allocated for the needs of the village common room, which still exists today.
Since 2009, the Centre, as well as a day-room for conducting factual classes, has been functioning as part of the Cultural Centre in Strzelce Opolskie, successfully implementing cultural and artistic activities that integrate generations thus benefiting the whole community greatly.
